Do you know QPQ Nitriding?
QPQ Nitriding is a process for producing a thin, high-hardness case that is wear and corrosion resistant.
QPQ Nitriding widely used in industry for decades, is mainly used to improve the abrasion resistance of steel, cast iron, stainless steel and other materials, and to improve the fatigue strength, particularly in combination with oxidative cooling further improve the corrosion resistance.
Process characteristics:
Nitrocarburizing refers to penetrate the surface of the steel material and a small amount of nitrogen atoms, carbon atoms. Such chemical treatment can improve the wear resistance and fatigue strength of the material. Further application of a unique oxidation cooling bath, get excellent wear and corrosion resistance, and black appearance.
Features:
1.QPQ treated with carbon nitrogen permeation layer from the compound layer (iron nitride) and a diffusion layer.
2.Compound layer thickness of 10 ~ 20um, a Vickers hardness of 800 ~ 1200HV.
3.Diffusion layer with the amount of alloying elements in steel increases, the thickness become shallow, hardness
increased.
Applications:
Widely used in automobile manufacturing industry, agricultural machinery, aerospace, construction machinery, construction, marine, chemical industry, power industry and hydraulics.
